Xanite Academy is the training and certification programme for the people who run Xanite, our customer data and marketing automation platform. It takes someone from their first sign-in to Xanite Certified Operator: a person who can bring customer data in, turn it into audiences, run journeys and retail media campaigns, and show what they earned.
A platform is only as good as the people operating it. Every Xanite Certified Operator has learnt the platform end to end and proved it on real work.
What the course covers
The Academy has 9 learning paths, 34 modules and 112 short lessons. Together they cover the whole platform, in the order a customer's data moves through it.
- Foundations covers how the platform fits together, how to find your way around the dashboard, and how roles and approvals keep work under control.
- Data into Xanite covers the web and mobile SDKs, connectors and imports, and how to confirm that the right events are arriving.
- Profiles and identity covers how one customer record is built from many sources, how anonymous visitors become known customers, and how lifetime value and lifecycle stage are worked out.
- Consent covers consent records, preference centres and signup forms, and data subject requests under POPIA.
- Segments covers building audiences by hand and with AI, and keeping their sizes current.
- Journeys and messaging covers the journey canvas, every channel, in-app message pages, quiet hours, and experiments that test one message against another.
- Measurement covers attribution, CSAT and NPS, and the reports that show a campaign's results.
- Retail Media covers advertisers and the brand portal, flights and budgets, area planning, creative and the end-of-campaign wrap-up.
- Getting the most from Xanite covers the programmes most accounts run: welcome journeys, win-back, churn prevention and the monthly account review.
Not everyone needs every path. There are 4 role tracks, for marketing operators, retail media managers, solutions engineers and account managers, and each follows only the paths that role uses.
What people learn by doing
Every learner gets their own login to a live practice workspace called Academy Retail. It is a fictional South African health and beauty retailer with 800 customers, 6 months of shopping history and 3 advertisers. New shopping activity arrives every hour, so the figures move during the day as they would for a real business.
The course has 7 hands-on challenges, set in that workspace. Learners send their first events and find them, build a welcome journey, find lapsed high-value customers, book a winter skincare campaign for an advertiser, and turn an area plan into a retail media flight. The Academy checks each piece of work in the workspace itself and shows a hint for any step that is not yet right.
This is the same work an operator does on a live account. In the practice workspace, a mistake costs nothing, and nothing can reach a real customer.
What a certified operator can do
A Xanite Certified Operator can:
- connect a business's websites, apps and systems, and confirm the data is arriving correctly
- build a single view of each customer and read it with confidence
- keep every message within the customer's consent and the business's quiet hours
- build audiences that stay current as customers change
- design and run journeys across push, email, SMS and in-app messages
- plan, book and report on retail media campaigns for advertisers
- measure results and explain them in a monthly account review
How certification works
Certification has 2 parts. The first is a 60-question exam, sat in 90 minutes, with a pass mark of 75%. The second is a practical build in the practice workspace, checked the same way as the challenges. Learners must score 80% on a practice exam before they can book the real one.
A certificate is valid for 12 months. Each one has its own public check page, so anyone can confirm that a person's certificate is real and current.
How the course stays current
Xanite improves constantly, and the course keeps pace with it. Every night, the Academy compares each lesson with the part of the platform it teaches. When that part changes, the lesson goes to the course editors for review. Learners who passed a lesson before it changed see it marked as updated, so their knowledge stays as current as the platform.
Who it is for
The Academy is for the people who operate Xanite day to day, our own team and our customers' teams alike. A customer can have its own staff trained and certified, so the people running its marketing and retail media know the platform as well as we do. Places are by invitation. Managers can follow their team's progress, set paths with due dates, and see which topics their team finds hardest.
Xanite gives a business one record of each customer and the tools to act on it. Xanite Academy makes sure the people using those tools know how to get results from them.
